Happy new years...and New year Commitments!

Happy new years everyone! What is everyone's resolution or solution to the year or commitment? What is mine you ask?

1. I want to stop stressing myself out too much when I feel like I am getting angry to fast..I just need to count to three and let it go. I need to find my balance this year, and be the sweet girl that I know I am.

2. I need to learn to appreciate the things that I have. Everyone always more or wants bigger things but we do not realize the things that we have in our life and the things that we take for granted. Maybe I can do some volunteer work this year to learn to appreciate the things I have more.

3. Be healthy. Everyone has a resolution to lose weight lose weight lose weight. But my goal is to be healthy both in body and in mind. I want to feel like myself again, I would like to fit back into some of my "skinny" clothes and learn to love myself again by doing things that will make me healthy.

4. I want to accomplish everything that I set out for myself last year that I began to embark upon. Such as graduating my program, excelling in my practicum, getting my driver's license, going to Edmonton and saving up for the car of my dreams.

Those are my resolutions this year and I wish everyone a merry 2013 and hope to bring 2014 in with a bang, much love and appreciation for everyone in my life.

I hope you all have the best year you have ever had, I sure hope that I will.

CHRISTMAS! (well technically christmas eve...still can't wait to open presents!)

Today was our christmas in our house because tomorrow is Jesse and my day together that is my christmas present to ourselves..Some alone time! But we opened our presents today, we ate junk, we went to grandmas, you know all the crap you do on christmas day we just rewinded and did it on the eve of christmas.

Well we opened our presents to each other. Jesse got pretty much the same things that I did a mug, a gift card to timmy's (mom's enabling our addiction!) Some pj's by his favorite brand of cola...you know it..its the pepsi. He got some stocking stuffers such as bacon flavored mints, and he got some sweaters and a house coat from yours truly.

We got mom a watch a phone book..since she lost hers. She got pj's herself and pretty much the same as us.

After we opened presents we went to Smitty's for some breakfast. Mom had some eggs and pancakes, I had eggs benedict (craving for like 8 months but I just never got around to it) and Jesse got a beef dip.

Later on we went to grandmas, and we helped her move her freezer, we changed the TV from her room into the living room since hers strangely stopped working...which is weird. We played  crokinole (had to google how to spell that) and Jesse completely annihilated us. He had the highest score of us all and grandma was surprised how competitive he was. Grandma got us some fun stuff too like a gift card to the movie mill, and lots of chocolates (got to try merci chocolates for the first time and I think I have a new favorite) It was so much fun, later we went to go check out Sweet Ideas which moved to behind my grandmothers building it had so much cool stuff. They had the biggest jaw breaker I have ever seen...and the most expensive.

But that was pretty much our christmas it was small, it was perfect and I couldn't have wished for anything more expect for my sister being here, which she will be in January. So although in the last few weeks, I thought that christmas would be ruined by everything that has happened, but just by these two days it has been the best ever! Lets hope that that streak continues and that it will lead up to a good new year!

Merry christmas everybody!

December

This month sure has had both its highs and extreme lows.

This month: we pretty much got our mustang stolen, we moved to the new apartment, and I finished school.

Mustang:

So we went to Calgary to go trade our mustang to this guy for a Ford F-250. We test drove it, but did not test drive it on the highway. There were so many red flags, and we signed the mustang over to him. Once we got onto the highway the RPM's were going 4000 for only 80km. That simply was not good, and when we got it home it just stopped working entirely, so the stupid fuck that lived in Calgary pretty much just walked away with a free vehicle that Jesse loved so dearly. We definitely learned our lesson, if there is at least one flag with a vehicle do not buy it. We should have realized what he was doing when he lied about the kilometers on the add it said 250 K when it was really 350 K. But all we were thinking about was we need a vehicle because it was snowing and the mustang was rear wheel. It was such a shame and we learned something from it.

New apartment:
We moved on the 16th into the new apartment and just in time. On the friday before the move I had called the Edmonton office for Midwest highland park homes or some shit like that to complain about the ladies in Lethbridge only to learn that she is even more of a dumbass then they are.

The new place we really like, it is extremely quiet and the lady that works here is really nice. Our apartment is nicer than we thought it would be too, yes we do get the occasional pot smell but that is ok. The move was irritating and we do not have the house set up fully but we have some christmas stuff out. We decorated our gingerbread house and tree so it feels more like home. It is really nostalgic being on the south side though from where I grew up, but I know it is a good neighbourhood and if we wanted we could get a dog.

School:

I passed school all with B- and one A-. I am so proud of how I did and now I start my practicum on February 3rd and go till March 28th. I am so excited to start it, and right now I am just trying to find a job. So wish me luck!

Hanging out with friends

This past friday I went to go hangout with my old friend Britany, we went window shopping and then she took me to dinner at the firestone. She bought some stuff at stitches and at bath and body works. Bath and body works had a 3 for 3, so she was nice enough to let me pick out three products, which made me really happy. I got some vanilla bean noel stuff since it smells so good. I got the body cream, and the fragrance mist. I also got the cashmere glow body cream, it smells very clean which is good.

At firestone I got a beef dip and our server was her sister! It was nice to meet her, and it is amazing how different they are. Totally different personalities, different looks everything. You would not have guessed that by looking at them that they were sisters. Britany ordered a lobster brie sandwhich which she said was good and her sister ordered her the gingerbread hot chocolate which was very good as well, it also had a gingerbread whip cream that went ontop so it was really rich.

Remembrance day weekend

This weekend I took off of school. I did my CSP test and got 86% on it so I felt like I deserved a few days off school. To take school off for a few days when that is the only thing you worry about is really weird but relaxing but I am so thankful that I did it, because I am ready to kick ass in school again. This remembrance day I took the whole day to get done all my quizzes and such in Medical Terminology and now I am caught up, just need to do the module 2 test then I am finished this module.

Since I took the weekend off of school I decided to go to a movie and Jesse and I worked on a model car together.
The movie that we went to go see was Thor 2, and it was better than the original Thor. It was very good and having a close up on Chris Hemsworth abs is nice as well. We went with my friend Kelsey White, she is also in the CSP program and she is from White Horse in the Yukon. It was a very good movie though. After the movie we went back to my place and talked for awhile...its always good to have friends over.

Lastly, Jesse and I made a model car. We created a pontiac firebird...do not know the year but I will insert the pictures down below. But I found a new love to do model cars, its fun to paint them and then put them together. I am planning on buying my own model car.

I did all the interior

Red Deer, Kitty, and halfway done

Finally, I am getting around to this blog. It has been awhile since these events have happened. Lots have happened...it is the end of the month, which means all I have is exams again. So its a very stressful time. Jesse has been trying to find a job again after getting laid off from this shut down in Conklin...so again stressful.

We went to Red deer to pick up the chevy cavalier that I talked about in my previous blog. Mom came along with us to bring my car home, I was so proud of her she drove deer foot all by herself! Especially since driving that road is so scary. But while we were in red deer and picked up the car we went to the mall to just hang out to let Jesse sleep. I went into target for the first time and it is really cool being in there, they have really good prices..why can't lethbridge have one?

Then we went to go look around the rest of the mall. I got a free massage from a place that was promoting their company, it was a really good massage, it was nice because she used her palms as opposed to her fingers. It was very relaxing and nice, it got out a lot of the kinks that were in my back and neck. Then we went into bath and body works and they were giving out a free travel size lotion for anyone that entered the store, so free lotion is always nice.

Then we went home again..That is about it.

But guess what people? I beat my fear of driving...I actually like driving..can you believe that? I like it. I got over it, after watching mom drive through Calgary I told myself that Lethbridge driving. is not that bad, and I shouldn't complain, the traffic could be way worse.

But to introduce people to my car...
KITTY THE CAVALIER
She is a 1994..not 87..chevy cavalier and I love her. She drives perfectly...pretty good for 250 right? and she doesn't look like a granny car which I love, only thing it really needs is a stereo.

sleeping love bug...awww

Also I am halfway done school..yay!!

Sad? Happy? just a bunch of mixed emotions...

SAD...

I had to throw out all of my stain slides in bio..I understand we can't keep them forever because there are dangerous bacteria on them, but still they are all such hard work. I was so tempted to just go in there after class and take them, but I knew I couldn't I knew I would get sick.
Also It would have been really cool to get a picture of all my slides but I wasn't able to..sad face..but for now this little picture below will give an idea of what they look like, but still all my hard work....

HAPPY...

Jesse might be coming home in a few days yay! and better yet he is giving me an early christmas present...my very own beater! I know I talked about the Jimmy but it was just falling apart, it was horrible and we sold it to someone and made a return on it so it was good for our bank. But he is getting me a 1987 chevy cavalier and the colour is green and rust...*crickets*...yeah I know, sounds like a horrible car. But we are not spending lots of money on it so if I crash it, it will only damage my insurance.

SO hopefully we will have a pic of that for next time...until something again happens..

College tests...and hard work going down the drain

Last week I had my first college test, and I did so well. I was stressing out so bad over it, but in the end I got an 83 on it, which I think is really good considering that the class average was 71. This week too there are going to be tons of exams and college exams really are not that bad if you listen to what the teacher says will be on the exam.

But the sad part about this about being tested and graded is that some of our work is just thrown out. For example, in our Microbiology lab, we made all these slides, stained them and now we have to throw them out. I am so tempted to go to the lab and steal one just so that I can remember that I made them. Me, myself and I made them. The coolest slide that I made was the nigrosin stain because it looked like the bacteria was glowing in the stain.
But sadly we have to throw them out because we have bacteria on them that could be very harmful to other people...bummer eh? But it was a cool experience none the less.

Last week, Jesse also went away to a shut down for 24 days. It was sad, but your love's have to do what they have to do to make money.

That has pretty much been my last few weeks.

Until something somewhat interesting happens....stay tuned.

Environmental swabs

So today my lab partner Stephanie and I went to go take pictures of our bacteria that has been brewing over the last while. It is amazing how much bacteria is on a toilet seat since that is one of the places where we did our environmental swabs. But I think its cool, we learnt how to plate bacteria to isolate it further and also to add them to a broth. Definitely in school the labs are my favourite and can't wait to keep learning more.

CSP tour/ Weigh in thursdays

Today was so exciting to me. I got to finally tour the department that I plan to have my future career in, the central processing at the hospital. It was exactly how I thought it would be, I think I will really love this job. I like the idea of working by myself, and just doing my work, as well as, sterilizing stuff. I am sort of beginning to become like a mini germophobe, and kind of am worrying about the germs around me now, but they say in due time that goes away.

But I thought it was a good day and very good tour. I also went to go see Laura and I gained a pound so now I am at 204.5, but I have a plan for next week so we shall see how it goes. I was going to skip going to the gym tonight but my boyfriend is very "kind" and told me I had to go, and I am glad that he did, because although I hurt, it was the right thing to do and it will benefit next weeks weigh in session. I just need to worry about my water intake a bit more.

But until, the next exciting thing happens...Cheers!

Firsts

this week was so exciting for me...it was a week of firsts! I started college for the first time this week, I have 6 classes in total. microbiology, csp, communications, medical terminology, English and computers. the first class I was so nerve wrecked it was crazy, but I just sat by a girl named Stephanie and introduced myself. I found out that she was in the same program as me, a ps well as, this other girl named Chelsea.

it was also my first lab ever, we got to wear labs coats and the whole deal. I learnt how to use a Brunson burner and we got to look at frogs blood and bacteria under the microscope. we also did environmental swabs, my lab partner and I took them from a door handle and from the tilet seat in the bathroom. I am really excited to see what kinds of bacteria will grow on the plates from the samples. I think that the lab will be one of my favourite classes, and luckily I have a lab partner that knows what she is doing, she helped me a bit with the microscope.

this week I also tried A new recipe, a orange sour cream chicken, it was soo good but I could have made it better but that is what has been up in the last few days and it feels good doing school and making new friends.

This week I also tried getting new nails on, the first day I completely hated them, I wanted to just rip them off but after having them for awhile I got used to them and I think they are ok. Sometimes they can be difficult to deal with but its all good.

here's hope to a good semester!

Movies movies movies

When Jess and I got back from holidays it was right about when they had the half price night at the good theatre so we decided on going to three movies.

2 guns...Planes...and Elysium

2 guns was a great movie, but the only downside was that I could hardly stay away. I was so tired from driving for 20 hours it was hard to stay awake. But from what I saw it was very good and there were not a lot of people so that was nice as well.
Planes was a good movie as well. It was kind of slow in the beginning but it got really good. The mexicano plane was hilarious, he was my favourite and it was good seeing it in 3d from the aerial perception of the planes.
Elysium...last but not least was so good. I nearly cried in the end it was brilliant, You felt the difference between what life was like on the world - being in poverty- and what it was like on Elysium - rich bitches-. But it had a good twist the ending was sad but it was good in the end because it saved all the people on the earth from the evil lady (Jodie foster). I really liked it and I do not really see Matt Damon movies that often either and I thought his acting was great.

Vacation 2: Youbou and Naniamo

To get to my sister's place and his mom's we had to take the ferry across to the island. It was Jesse and my first time going on the Ferry and to get onto that is very hectic. People are rushing to get onto the ferry or people do not get to their cars in time and lose their spot in line. Once you get off the ferry too it is very stressful, people are trying to get to their destinations as fast as possible because of the long wait and just stressful...only word to describe it.

But once we got off the island in Nanaimo we first went to go see my sister to drop off some stuff that my mother wanted to give her. She first met Jesse and she thinks he is very nice. I thought it was interesting how there are tons of fruit around the island, in Nanaimo you just walk around and there are always a ton of blackberries, but they are the best blackberries that you ever did taste. Definitely something that you cannot get in a store.

Later we met up with Jesse's mom in Chemainus, which is past lady smith. We met her there because she was picking up one of her motorbikes from the shop. It was a very nice bike it was purple and pink and it was much lighter than her other bike. But they drove it home I got to meet his mother, and then we drove back to Youbou which is where she lives.

Jesse got to ride the bike too, he went to Lake Cowichan before it broke down but he looked good on the bike. He gets so excited over driving them and did a good job.

Now her house is out of this planet, it feels like a little resort. It was clean, it was across from the lake, they had a hot tub they had a boat. It was just great, Jesse and I enjoyed our time in the hot tub especially on days where it was colder. I think that it would be awesome to have a hot tub in the winter to just go have a drink in and relax.

While at her house too we went camping on Lake Cowichan..the lake across from their house. They had a fire ban on but we were able to still have a fire through a propane fire pit. Because what is camping without a fire? Jesse and I had a night to ourselves (his niece was visiting too) and it was just relaxing.

It was scary because on the first night of camping Jesse accidentally locked his keys and his spare key in the car. The only reason why he got into the car was because I had not shut my door completely. After getting coat hangers and an hour later. Jesse his mom and Gord had managed to open the door..thank god. Otherwise we would have had to pay a crap ton of money to have his door unlocked, since we were so far from the city.

But we just camped normally for the first few days, later on Jesse's mom's friends had come. Her previous Foreman and his family. I thought that they were very nice, but their one son was good for nothing. I liked the daughter and the youngest they both were nice. One night Jesse had a good conversation with them about playing Call of Duty it was funny to listen to, since they were so into it. I obviously didn't join but it was ok.

Over the camping trip we went on the speedboat a few times too, I had never been on a speedboat before so it was so much fun. Later on we went tubing too and the girl that I went on the tube with we both caught air for about 2 ft is what we were told. But it was fun to go boating, it was very relaxing and they showed us some of the properties around the lake. Some of these properties are upwards of 1 million dollars and up. Just to be on the lake but you cross the lake and the price drastically drops.

But the area is gorgeous, Jesse and I walked back from the camp site to his mom's house one day because she had taken his car back to her house. The walk was gorgeous and when you live in the rain forest rain isn't like droplets but it is a fine mist. It was beautiful.

Towards the end we went back into Nanaimo to go see my sister again, it was an ok visit. When we went to go see her we were very tired and it was hazy outside. But she showed me around nanaimo and saw some of her favourite shops. A lot of shops remind me of Josee in Lethbridge, just very hippy stores. But it was a nice visit I got to talk to her a bit, and just relaxed as well. We didn't do much but it was nice to see her.

But it was great meeting his mom I had a great time and it was gorgeous being there. I thought the vacation was relaxing and calm.

Vacation 1: Road trip

,Jesse and I went to go meet his mom in BC on his days off. It was our first major road trip together and they say that if you can survive a long road trip together then you have a good relationship. But obviously we win. The roads in BC are different from Alberta, and they have some crazed ass weird laws for the road, for example. In Vancouver they have a "lane hoy" where only people that have 2 or more passengers in the car can drive. I think it was the only reason why we didn't get stuck in a traffic jam in Vancouver on our way to the ferries.

But the drive up was nice we had driven to Revelstoke and got a motel for the night, which it was not the best motel but it was a great price for the motel. They also had the best steak that Jesse had ever tried in a long time. It was so juicy and delicious but it was a good place to eat. But the gas prices are crazy, but in these towns they can up the price of gas because there might not be another gas station for like 300 km or so, way to cheat people out of their money but it is a need. Also it the roads can be frustrating especially behind semi's because if they miss a shift they will have their hazard lights going up the highway going only 40 km/h.

Driving in other cities is also really crazy in Vancouver it is always rush hour and people in BC do not really care about their speed. When we were coming up to a speed sign in Vancouver it would show the speed that you were doing and when we passed it, it kept on flashing to slow down and then eventually it just showed a frownie face because of how fast we were going.

On the way back people really would not care about the speed limit, on the highways the speed limit is 90 km/h but they were really going 130 km/h and that was slow. But also in BC it is illegal to have photo radar so a cop can only pull you over, so just make sure there is no po po around and you are good.

Also in BC they have to have license plates on the front and back of their vehicles, which I thought was weird.

But that just about tells you about our road trip's to and from BC. In my next post I will tell about what it was like at his mom's and being in youbou and naniamo.

Days off, first vehicle and mom days.

So on days off...Jesse and I got our first car. Well it will be a starter car for me and to drive it around, learn how to drive it etc. I am in love with him (it is a boy since he is gutless). He has so much room in him, all the seats fold down and it just has so much space. We only got it for $500 and the only thing that was really wrong with it was that the battery on it was dead. But otherwise he runs smoothly, he has new tires on him and the rims are nice. Today I just cleaned him out so now he looks nice inside as well.

pumping gas in my car for the first time

Also on days off we of course did our relaxing rituals like going out to dinner and going to movies. Jesse and I went to montanas and up above is the art that I created there. I had surf n turf tacos, which were really yummy...minus the cilantro..just do not like that at all. It was very good.

The movie that Jesse and I went to go see was R.I.P.D. It was very funny, I enjoyed it a lot and Jesse did as well. I liked the concept of the movie and all in all it was good there were some twists and turns and it was good.
Lastly, mom and I went to The heat last night since it was the cheap night, and I have to say. It is the funniest movie I think I have ever saw. It was so funny. Point blank, I nearly pee'd laughing. It made us cry and the whole audience loved it. I did not think it was possible for no one to laugh in the movie. I would definitely buy it or see it again..it was just so funny. The character of Melissa McCarthy also reminded me of Jesse, same humor, same reactions to things. It was great.

Finishing chemistry and forgetting purposes

Today after I write my final for chemistry i am officially finished the course...yay! After the long months and gruelling work I will be done, it is a bit surreal because it was one of those things where I never thought I could finish. But I finally will be and then all I have left is college, and I am so excited to finally just be out of high school for good.

After the test I found out that I got a final mark of 74% which is a lot better than what I thought it would be. It just felt like such a relief to have it done, it is relieving to know that all I need to worry about now is colege. I am so excited for college and to start it. I cannot wait to finish my college course too, but I have a feeling it will be weird to be finished college, because that's it. The 13 years + that you go to school and finally it is all over and no need to worry about education anymore. All you need to worry about is the rest of your life.

Which brings to me another thing. For the past weeks I have forgotten the purposes of things. Because it is so easy for me to forget why I want to lose weight. I want to lose the weight to feel healthy, but the main reason was to get a breast reduction.

I am 5 foot tall and have double d's. It is a ton for my back to manage. I just need to get this surgery so that my back problems will disappear and get better. Everyone that I have talked to that had the surgery says that instantly after the surgery it feels like a magic formula to no back problems.

So I need to constantly have this running through my mind to remind myself to just "not care" about myself and to take care of my body

Crazed storms

So I guess that I should do a post about all the crazy storms that let's bridge has been having.

In the last few weeks we had major storms that included warnings of severe thunderstorms to tornados, and including hail. It just simply has been crazy.

One night at work it hailed and it just shot through the drive thru window, it bruised my arm a bit and the mess afterwards was huge. But with all these hail storms also comes hail damage. All the dealerships along mayor McGrath have been having sales on all vehicles due to hail damage, as well as, hail damage estimate booths.

Most recent hail storm was today and I guess the south side took the hit the worst. I guess superstore lost power, there are trees in the streets and there was lots of flooding and a few funnel clouds. I guess people Are not hurt from it.

Anyways I borrowed some pictures from friends to show the damage.

Plans for the future

I thought I would just write this blog to update people on what I plan to do in the future.

First off in the fall I plan to do the CSP course (Central Sterlizing processing), What that program is, is a year course to sterilize instruments at the hospital. It is cheap schooling compared to other programs because it is so short. As well as, I thought that the program would be good because then I can get into the health care system, and find out what I really want to do.

While in school it was just a battle between nursing and being a lab technician, and while having this career I can have the ability to job shadow in both. As well as, I have many friends that have taken the course and they love it. They get good paying jobs without "wasting" most of their time in class. They just wanted to have careers and not do a lot of schooling, through this program you are able to do that.

Lastly, Jesse and I plan to move to the Edmonton area, hopefully after I am done my program. That way he and I both will have good paying jobs and be able to support ourselves. Currently, we are just living at my mom's. It is tight, it is compact and we have our miscommunication between each one of us. However, this in no means mean that I hate my mom, its just time for me to move out. I am about 20 years old and never had my own place. At my age my sister had moved all over, so by my age she was used to it.

But I just thought I would just do a quick update about the things that I want to have happen in my life.
Until next time...

Days off: Calgary, go karting, movies

Jesse had days off..and I did too. I was off for quite awhile so I was happy to have him home. Anyways on our days off we went to go see a movie, we went go karting, we went to pick my mother up in Calgary and we relaxed.

The movie that we went to go see was Pacific Rim. It was an awesome movie, I loved all the special effects that they had in it. Also the storyline was different from a lot of movies I have seen before. I thought it was interesting that the aliens came from a portal in the pacific ocean. Also I thought it was interesting how they used mind connections to control the robots that they created. It was just an awesome movie, but with some of the action scenes it was so zoomed in that it was hard to see some of the fights. But it was a great movie. I would buy it on DVD.

While in Calgary, it was very stressful because Jesse got a new deck in his car that has a built in gps, and the lady on the gps was dumb. We went around in circles, it was very frustrating to follow. It took us about 20 minutes longer to find our destinations, but we picked up mom and got home safely using the iphone's GPS.

I also got my second holes in my ears pierced at Claire's. It barely hurt at all, it just stung a little bit afterwards. But it was fine, it was cheap and I like them a lot.

Lastly, Jesse and I went go Karting. I have to admit with some of the moves that I did we could have gotten kicked out. I kept on cutting off Jesse, and I ran into the wall a few times. But this one corner that we took was so sharp it hurt our sides when we were finished. But once in awhile I passed Jesse so I was happy, even though I did it really unfair. But it was fun.

Also this week, there was the streetwheelers in town so it was a loud weekend with lots of police. It was funny because this one cop came up from beside us and all we heard was "You wanna race?" and then we looked over and saw it was the cop. It scared us so bad and when the light turned green he punched it and we kept the speed limit. I yelled out the window "nice try..we never speed." Haha which is such bull. But since it was a cop, we did not want to race them. But it was a good weekend.
